What sets me apart from other tutors? *I am a seasoned higher education professional: I work at a large research university and have over 15 years of experience helping students with college preparation and academic success. My Masters degree is focused on counseling and supporting high school and college students. I have also taught reading and writing skill development at the community college level. My areas of expertise include: English composition and grammar; PSAT, ACT, and SAT Reading, Writing, & Language prep; AP English, AP History & AP Government prep; ESL tutoring; the college essay & college application process; and the college application and transition process for parents. *My approach is strengths-based: I will never come from a critical or weakness-focused approach with you or your student. Instead, we will focus on your strengths and talents to excel in whatever it is we are working on together. *I love the learning process and have many "tips and tricks" to share with my students: As an English major and someone who has always loved to read and write, I have developed skills and techniques for excelling in these areas.
