Hector A.
Private tutor in Santa Barbara, CA
Education
Junior Mathematics major at UC Santa Barbara
Experience
Ever since my Junior year of high school I have been a tutor. I started off with the Jaime Escalante Math Program in East Los Angeles. In that program I first tutored elementary students in general math, that was the summer of 2005. In the summer of 2006, upon graduation, I tutored high school freshman in Algebra at Montebello High School. Here at UCSB I have helped out my fellow students in the entry level math courses (Math 34A/B and Math 3A). Recently I held a job for the fall quarter of 2008 through the Science & Mathematics Initiative program tutoring middle school students at La Cumbre Junior High School in the subject of Algebra. I have experience with both struggling students and advanced students as well as at risk youth since I do come from a troubled community in East Los Angeles.
